designed to enhance sustainability by minimizing environmental impacts
100% Renewable Electricity
The operations at Grota do Cirilo use 100% renewable electricity delivered by the major Minas Gerais state electricity generator and distributor, CEMIG, which operates the nearby Irapé hydroelectric power plant.
100% Water Recycling
Sigma Lithium recycles 100% of the water used keeping water withdrawals to a minimum.
Zero Tailings Waste
Thanks to the technological solutions implemented, Sigma Lithium can dry stack tailings from the production process instead of using a tailings dam. They are then either sold as high-purity lithium fines or used by other industries – resulting in no tailings waste.
Zero Use of Hazardous Chemicals
Sigma Lithium’s production process does not use any hazardous chemicals that are often utilized in the mining industry.
